WEAVING

Design by Neri & Hu

-Contemporary ceramics cease to be merely a surface finish and become a tool for creating atmospheres-

Weaving by Mutina, designed by Neri & Hu, reinterprets traditional Chinese bamboo weaving as a three-dimensional ceramic surface.

A tonal palette of five clay shades with a transparent glazed finish, inspired by the maturation of bamboo, brings texture, depth and sophistication to contemporary spaces.

Weaving is structured around three geometric patterns — San Jiao, Si Fang and Ba Leng — based respectively on the triangle, square and octagon.

These modular patterns can be combined in different ways, creating compositions that bring texture, depth and personality to architectural and interior design projects.

The result is a series of three-dimensional surfaces in which material, colour and geometry create a dynamic balance.

Its application on floors and walls opens up new possibilities for residential, hospitality, retail and contract projects. Bathrooms, kitchens, entrance areas, feature walls and commercial spaces can incorporate the collection as an architectural element capable of adding identity without the need for excessive decoration.

Beyond its expressive qualities, Weaving combines industrial precision with artisanal sensitivity. Made from homogeneous unglazed porcelain stoneware and developed using specific moulds, the collection maintains precise three-dimensional definition alongside subtle variations that enhance its material character.

For architects and interior designers, Weaving by Mutina represents a different way of understanding design ceramics: not as a background, but as an active surface that introduces texture, depth, rhythm and emotion into the space.
