Celosia is a new vision that reinterprets handcrafted processes, roof tiles, bricks, hollow bricks and partitions, while maintaining tradition and the handmade artisan seal.

3 great creatives perform the collections Brac, Celosia and Mistral for Mutina.

Brac is a terracotta ceramic piece designed exclusively by Nathalie Du Pasquier. It is a versatile, three-dimensional element for creating all kinds of structures and walls, where unexpected plays of light and shadow come to life. The bricks that characterize this collection are true design elements made of extruded terracotta.

The Brac collection comes in a range of 5 colors: clay, with a natural matte surface, and bianco, salvia, marrone and nero, with a glossy enamel finish.

Each Brac piece is 13 x 22 x 10cm.

Like in the “Tierras” Collection, Mutina and Patricia Urquiola wanted to repeat the traditional handcraft production process typical of terracotta. The desire to break out of the two-dimensional spaces typical of standard wall cladding led to experimentation with three-dimensional bricks and new design elements.
The shape of the Celosia divider evokes the Roman numbering system. The result is a dynamic structure with unique partitions.

Each piece is 20.5 x 26.5 x 10 cm.

Mistral is inspired by the building elements of ancient architectures. During a visit to the Italian countryside, we noticed how terracotta vent tiles were also used to provide natural ventilation in rural barns and annexes. We started contemplating its function as a starting point, creating and contemplating the effects of light and shadow within the solid stone walls of the old farmhouse. This is what led us to Mistral.
